How everything began...

The “neverending story” started at Geli’s relatives in the beautiful Thuringian Forest. Already as child she enjoyed visiting them- amoung others because of the fantastic sleddogs and that amount of snow. She really liked to take one dog with her but at home there was already an Old German Shepherd Dog that tasked a lot of time. So the Husky project had to move in far future...
Time went by without such a nice dog and not before Marco arrived the topic was current again. He was also enthusiastic about these dogs in the Thuringian Forest and wanted to own one someday. After long considerations we decided for a dog some time later. It should be a Labrador or something like that.
But as all to often in life everything developed different... A private advertisement in a pet shop offered Siberian Husky puppies and so Geli decided to have a phone call. So in February 2002 we were proud owners of our first sleddog (female). Only some month later our Old German Shepherd Dog sadly died because of a liver tumor. Because of avoiding loneliness we decided for a second Siberian Husky (male). He should complete the “family”- but at this time we had no idea about the “Husky virus”...
Our bike trips were nice but one day we wanted to have a dog cart. But with only two dogs infront of it? We need reinforcements! So two more dogs moved in and we took part in our first Dryland races- partly with lent dogs.
Unfortunately we had to realize that not every sleddog is a real sleddog. So we ment Annliese Braun- Witschel with her Alka-Shan’s while looking for sporty dogs and really enjoyed this line.
Next to our Siberian Huskies we have the Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog girl Lucia. She accompanies us during the summer but isn’t afraid of cold temperatures, too.

We spend the winters mostly in our house in Sweden. There we train the dogs on middistance trails and participate in races.
